Daddy came in his big, work big truck and you and Connor think it is so fun to ride in! You also love that you can reach the window lever and roll down the window. You can't do that in the van. You are sure being spoiled by Daddy! You get to go to McDonald's all the time and he is always getting you lots of treats!

One of your favorite things ever to do is go through the car wash! I don't go through one very often, but you and Connor love it! We went through one today with Jeni's car and then while I vacuumed out the car, you and Connor peek through the windows of the carwash and follow the cars. JAs we drove away from the carwash, you told me that when you grow up you want to work at the carwash.

Daddy came tonight to loan us his car because he has a company truck to drive and you were so excited to see him! You love going to Grandma's to spend the night with him.

Thursday - Sunday, February 23 - 26

We had a fun weekend in Mountain Home with the Jenks Family! We left Thursday afternoon and picked up Grandma Packer. About 20 miles away from our destination, we had a huge adventure - the van broke down! We had to wait about an hour for the tow truck to come and you and Connor were bouncing all over the place. When the tow truck finally came at 9:30, you and Connor were so excited to ride in it and enjoyed it for about 5 minutes before you both fell asleep. But, you were excited to be at Quinton and Clara's!

Heather and Barry left Friday morning for a little get-a-way, so we had tons of fun with Grandma and Quinton and Clara. You all played outside for a long time and ran around the house and wrestled and played. Grandma and I made you "glow" jars and you ran around the house pretending that you had caught monsters in them.

Saturday was spent playing more and Grandma and I made you a pajama eater - an animal to keep your pajamas in during the day. You got a turtle, Connor got a doggy, Quinton got a dinosaur and Clara got a caterpillar. You all loved them and ran around the house with them!

On Sunday, we went to Stake Conference and ended up sitting in the Relief Society room, which was kind of nice because it gave us a little bit more freedom. You 4 kids were really good for the whole two hours.

Because the van was a goner and needed a new engine, Grandpa Packer drove over and rescued us and we all drove home on Sunday afternoon. You were exhausted from all that playing and took a good, long nap! We had a great time and you keep telling me that you wish we lived closer to Quinton! I agree!

You and Connor say some words in the same way. The one I noticed today was girl. You both say it like "grrr" and the L is very hard to hear. It's so cute!

I finally told you and Connor that were going to go to Quinton's house tomorrow. You were so excited and you are finally figuring out what "tomorrow" means. You asked me if tomorrow means after pajamas. You measure time in terms of naps or bedtime. I guess that is because I am always saying, "we will do this after naps, or we will do this when you wake up tomorrow."

On the way to preschool you randomly said, "The rule is when you go through a car wash, you have to a car. You can't just walk in it". So random, so cute!

Today is the first day that you lost your privileges for playing the Wii. This morning you were grumpy and mean to Connor and so i wouldn't let you play the entire day. You were pretty upset at first, but then you didn't ask again the rest of the day. I really want you to understand that the Wii is a privilege and you can lose it at any time.

Today is President's Day, so John came down and played the Wii with you while Connor was taking a nap, and I let you play for about 3 hours. I now understand that was a big mistake. It makes you tired and grumpy. We are definitely going to limit your time with the games. But, I do have to say that I am really impressed with how well you can maneuver around the Wii and play the games. You are already better than me!

Friday - Saturday, February 17-19, 2012

Tammy and her family came and stayed with us this weekend. You havbe so much fun playing with Bridger, Braxton and Brielle! They played the Wii with you a lot and ran around the house with you a lot. In fact, you had so much fun running around, you threw up last night after going to bed. You kept calling Brielle, "Danwell".

Yesterday, Connor got his picures taken at JCPenny for his birthday, you stayed out in the lobby, watching a movie, but you kept coming into the studio and asking, "Is he doing good?" It was so sweet of you to be so concerned!

Tonight, you asked if tomorrow was a Preschool day at the college, and when I told you it was a holiday, "President's Day", you got very sad. you really like that school!

At your "friend" pre-school today, you made silly socks and you are so proud of them. You glued some felt and pom-poms and googly eyes to them and loved wearing them all day!

You are still having a hard time with the transition of no naps. In the afternoons, you still get pretty whiney and sad, but I can not talk you into taking a nap, no matter how tired you are. You used to play games at PBS.org, but now you play the Wii and watch anything you want on Netflix. I think you really enjoy your free time away from Connor! :)

You had a pretty rough day, and I think you were pretty tired and having some withdrawal daddy issues. I was going to put you in bed at 7:30, but then we got a better offer. The Andrews have a small plane and they offered to take us for a ride. You were so excited! Mommy was way more nervous than you and Connor! We got to go for about 45 minutes and flew all over Rexburg and got to see lots of lights and our favorite was the temple all lit up! You got a little bored and tired about half way through, but you still really enjoyed it!

Happy Valentines Day! You are such a sweet valentine! All day long you kept giving me hugs and kisses and tell me that they were "Valentines Day Hugs and Kisses!" We had pink pancakes for breakfast and Jeni invited us for a Valentine dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Packer and Grandma Gardner. She made a heart chicken wreath and pink rice. I made cupcakes made with a frosting heart and your present from me was the DVD "Lady and the Tramp".

Hampton came over for a little bit this morning and gave you Valentine and then Cooper came over this afternoon and gave you a Valentine and you were pretty excited about that and then you got Valentines in the mail from Quinton and Clara and that was even more exciting! Last summer, John and Mackayla created a play called "The Campout" and tonight you all finally performed it for us. You were thrilled to be in the spotlight and had a lot of fun with it!

You have started trying to figure out letters and the sounds and you have been trying to figure out what different words start with. I hear you in your car seat sounding out words, "sss, sss, sss, snow, gggggg, green." My favorite was, "wwwwww, wibrary". I am really impressed with how smart you are!!!

We went to the funeral for your great, great Uncle Dearold Ferguson. Your Great Grandma Gardner flew in for her brother's funeral and it is nice to have her around.

It was also Aunt Jeni's birthday today and that means a lot to you because you know that after Jeni's birthday comes Valentines Day and then St. Patricks Day and then your birthday! When I told you it was over 30 days until your birthday, you were pretty upset because you thought that was a long time away!

Daddy left this morning, but he sure spoiled you while he was here. He took you shopping and bought you new clothes and got you a Wii, which you and Connor love playing Baseball on. You always have a hard time when Daddy leaves, but I know it must be so hard and confusing for you. I missed you a lot while you were with Daddy! I do need my mommy time, but I always miss you!

Daddy surprised you by picking you up at pre-school. You were so happy! Daddy took you and Connor to lunch at McDonalds, took you to the "firework" movie theater to play video games and get prizes and went to the other movie theater to watch "Beauty and the Beast". I think your highlight was that you won a stuffed animal out of the claw machine all by yourself. You had a very busy day! And now tonight you are spending the night with Daddy at Grandma Packer's. Just always remember that I love you so, so much!

You had a rough night. Daddy is coming home tomorrow, which you thought it was going to be today and I thought you understood and were ok with that, but then you talked to him on the phone and just cried and cried and cried. It breaks my heart that it makes you so sad and I'm sure you don't understand why you can't see him more often. I am so sorry that you are going through this. It's not fair to you. I so wish I could take away your pain and confusion. Just know that Mommy and Daddy both love you very much!

When you asked this morning where we were going today and I told you that you were going to pre-school at the college, you said, "Yay, I am so excited to see Corbin." I started asking you questions about him and you said that sometimes he talks with his hands, but he can't really talk, and that when you have snacks, he has a special pillow to sit on to help him balance.

I am so proud of you and how you have befriended Corbin. You have such a big heart and you accept anyone and want everyone to be your friend.

I could learn a lot from you!

During Sacrament meeting you wanted to go the restroom, so I let you go by yourself. You were taking a very long tie coning back, so I went to find you and were in the foyer, opening the door for anyone coming into or leaving the chapel. You told me you didn't want to go back in because you wanted to help people. As sweet as that was, I made you come back into Sacrament meeting and you were not very happy with me.

We went to Grandma's house for dinner and to watch the superbowl. As we were driving home, I asked how you liked the superbowl party and you said, "That was a party?" I guess it really wasn't much different than a normal dinner at Grandma's.

You got to hang out with Grandpa Packer today for a couple of hours while I hung out with Grandma and Aunt Jeni. He let you play outside and cut up a coconut.

Sometimes you and Connor play so well together and sometimes I think you are trying to kill each other. But, I guess that is just part of growing up as brothers. Today you two just kept wrestling and beating each other up. You used to not fight back when Connor wrestled you, but now yo do. I guess you got tired of getting pinned by your little brother.

You and Connor received a package today from Aunt Jessica which was full of Snoopy! There were two stuffed Snoopys and Snoopy toys and treats. At Christmas, Jessica went to Disneyland and there must be a Snoopy village somewhere. You both LOVE your Snoopys and have kept them by your sides!

Hampton and his brothers came over today for a little bit, but when I told you they were coming, as much as you really like Hampton, you said, "Oh, I wish it was Danielle coming over."

There is a little girl, Danielle, that you really like. She used to be in our ward and she is your pre-school on Thursdays that we do with other families in the ward. When it was time to go to that pre-school, you would tell me that you wanted to sit by Danielle. And you always tell me that Danielle and Hampton are your favorite to sit by in pre-school. One day, when I was teasing Connor about liking Dora the Explorer so much, I asked him if he was going to marry Dora, and he said no, but you said, "I am going to marry Danielle". Another time you told me that you were going to live at Danielle's house when you got married. I said you have to be older to get married, you have to be done with high school, and then go on your mission and go to college, so I said you might be 25 or 26, so you said "OK, I will marry her when I am 22!"

Right before Christmas we decorated some foam snowflakes and you made one for Danielle and insisted that we take it over to her house to give to her. So, we did and Danielle was so cute and liked her snowflake and whispered to her mom that she wanted to make you something.

Today, when you asked what we are doing tomorrow, like you do every day, I told you it was going to be pre-school at your friends house and you said "Yay, I get to see Danielle!"

And what is even better is you say her name as "Danwell" and it is just so cute!

We went to play group at the church today, which was in the gym and you had a a great time on the stage and you and another boy your age, Trenton, tried to make up a play for everyone to watch. The only problem was you couldn't get any of the younger kids to join you. It was really cute to watch you walk around and ask all of the really little kids if they wanted to be in your play.

We went to the library today and you LOVE getting the theme boxes. But, you before you decide on one, you have to make sure their is a puppet inside. Today, the box you got was "camping" and there is a bear in a sleeping bag in it and you love it!

Every once in a while, you will get attached to a certain toy and today it was a strong man toy - it has big dumbbells in his hands. You carried it everywhere and got upset when it was lost.

You had to take Curious George back to school today, but you were very good about it and told him goodbye!

You really, really wanted to go to Jeni's house tonight. You finally got a chance to go up there after dinner and all you did was watch a movie. I guess you are just bored with being home with me! :)

At church today, you got a rock that says, "I will always remember to pray!" and you carried it around all day. When we first got home from church and I sent you to your room to change your clothes, you came out a few minutes later and said you that you took a long time because you were praying! So, so sweet!

You did go to your class without any meltdowns or tears, so we all had a good day!

My visiting teachers came over today and you and Connor sure love the attention from them. I can't believe how different you act when other people come over. You jump all over the place and on them and you act like I never give you any attention. I just don't understand how you become a completely different person when new people come over, and Connor is the same way! Silly, silly boys!

We went to Pizza Pie Cafe with Grandma and Grandpa and the Bybee's. It was yummy, but all you wanted was the chocolate pizza and you ate 3 pieces! We then went to the movie, "Hugo". It wasn't a cartoon, so I was worried about how well you would like it, but both you and Connor did really well during it! You both just got a little tired at the end of it and got a little restless.

For pre-school, you were asked to take home "Curious George" and then write about your time with him in a journal. You are having so much fun with and you are carrying him around everywhere. We have a couple of other monkeys and you have also been carrying them around with us too. Curious George came in a big shoulder bag and you have been carrying that around saying it is your purse. Before we leave the house, you get it "packed". Tonight at the movie, you pulled out a pair of slippers and put them on. I was laughing so hard at that one!

On our drive to Idaho Falls today, you had your binoculars and you saw the most interesting sites: you saw a tree that was knocked over and that was really sad and you saw houses and cows and then you said "Oh wow! The Sun is not a Sun, it's a light bulb!" And then you said "it might be a golden egg!" You have been watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" a lot lately! :)

We finally got enough snow to go out and play! Yes, it is almost February and this is the first real snow storm that we have had all winter. But, we had fun making a snow man and having a snow ball fight. John and Mackayla joined us and we even had hot chocolate afterwards.

You are such a patient and kind older brother to Connor. Connor can be very impatient and you try your best to help him and stop his temper tantrums. The other day, when he was upset about something, I could hear you say, "It's OK, Buddy". You two still have your sibling fights, but, I am so proud of what a good brother you are!

Your friend Hampton Thueson asked you to come over and play today, so you went to his house after pre-school until 3:00. Hampton's mom said you played and played together really well. You said the most exciting part was being able to ride in Hampton's car.

When I asked you and Connor what you wanted to eat for dinner tonight, you said, I want to eat with Jeni. So, you ran upstairs and asked Jeni if we could eat with her and so we had spaghetti with them. I guess you don't like my cooking! :)

On Tuesdays, you have tumbling at Airbound Tumbling and Cheer. You like it for the most part, but some days you tell me that it is too long and you get tired. You like doing the trampoline tricks the most, but today, you asked the teacher if you could do tricks on the balance beam, which you have only done once before. So, the teacher let you do it and you were so nervous, but it was fun to watch you. I found out today, that there is not going to be a recital this year and that made me so sad! You really loved the recital last year. I also wanted to get Connor into a class, now that he is 3, but they don't have any openings for him! I was really looking forward to both of you doing the recital, so I was double sad! :)

At dinner, you were getting pretty tired, and so you told me, "I should have taken a nap today." You then told me you were getting sick. Some days, it is really hard on you to not take a nap!

When you get your mind set on something, you do not forget! A few weeks ago, Grandma Packer gave you a chicken deli sandwich at her house and you have not stopped talking about. At lunch time today, I asked you what type of sandwich you wanted and you wanted a chicken sandwich, so I told you that we would get some chicken when we went to the grocery store after naps. So, until we went to the grocery store, you kept telling me over and over that you remembered that we were going to get chicken. There was no way you were going to forget. So, I'm excited for you to have a chicken sandwich tomorrow for lunch.

You had a pretty bad day and I'm not even sure why! As soon as Sacrament meeting started, you kept turning around and wouldn't listen to me. So, I had to take you outside for a time out and you still wouldn't be nice or listen to me, so you sat on my lap for most of the meeting. You finally started acting better, but then when it was time to go to class you wouldn't go and came running to find me. I tried sitting with you during sharing time, but you were still so sad and wouldn't let me leave. When it was time to go to your class, you would not go and your teachers and all the other Primary leaders tried to help you, but you just cried and cried. So, I took you to Relief Society with me and then you said you wanted to go to your class, so I tried to take you to back, but then you started crying all over again. So, I decided it was time to go home. And that is when the hugest tantrum EVER started! So, I found Nolan and asked him to get Connor so we could all go home, and then took you out the van, screaming and kicking! I then had to hold your arm, so you wouldn't open the door and jump out! I do not know what was wrong! I don't think you were sick and you got plenty of sleep last night. Well, Connor almost fell asleep on the 2 minute drive home, so I put us all in my bed and we all took a nap. You acted a lot better after the nap, but you were still a little whiney! I am so sorry you were having a bad day! I kept asking you why you were so sad, but you didn't know.

We celebrated Connor's birthday more today. We went to "Chipwrecked", the newest Chipmunks movie with John and Mackayla and then had dinner with the Bybee family and Grandma and Grandpa Packer. It was fun for dinner, we had "3" different vegetables to dip, "3" types of jello, bread sticks in the shape of "3" and "3" cheese chicken alfredo penne! Grandma Packer made Connor a "Mater" cake! It was a lot of fun! You gave Connor a "Diego" car, which he really liked and you showed him how to play with it.

You and Connor sure fought all day, though! Some days you get along and play really well together and then other days you can't be in the same room. I guess that's just part of brotherly love! At one point, you two were so mad at each other, (he wouldn't move from a spot that you wanted to play at), so you started wrestling. It's kind of cute. You are always the nice one. You rarely fight Connor back. When you wrestle, you usually end up on pinned on the bottom. But, I think you let him do it because you are such a good big brother and don't want to hurt him!

Today is Connor's 3rd birthday and you were such a great older brother to him! You let him do what he wanted to do all day. You played what he wanted to play, you let him watch the movies he wanted to watch, and you kept asking him where/what he wanted to eat. It ended up being pancakes, macaroni and cheese and Applebees. It was a fun day! You only got upset once and asked when it was going to be your birthday, so you were a really good sport!

You stopped taking naps for good around 3 weeks ago. We tried to stop a few different times, but always went back to taking them because you just could not handle life with a nap. But, you have done really well the last few weeks. When it's time for Connor's nap and Mommy has to work, you either play quietly in the living room or watch a movie, or your favorite - playing computer games. We have two laptops right now, so you are able to take one and play games from PBSKIDS. It really amazes me at how fast you have learned to use the computer and navigate around the pages and play the games. I always knew you were brilliant! Because you are no longer taking naps, you usually fall asleep really quickly at night, well that is when Connor isn't talking to you and bugging you. When you do fall asleep before Connor, he starts to yell at you and gets very upset that you aren't talking to him! You also have a hard time staying awake in the car if we drive anytime after 5:00. So, on the 8 minute drive home from dinner, you fell asleep. It just cracks me up because you insist that you are old enough to not take naps!

Thank you for being such a good older brother to Connor! He adores you and wants to do everything you do and be just like you!
